Consular and embassy legalization
When the destination country is not party to the Apostille Convention, the document goes through a chain of legalizations: the Panamanian authority, the Foreign Ministry, and the destination country's embassy or consulate.
Each embassy has its own requirements, hours and fees, and some require a prior translation into the official language. We know how the diplomatic missions in Panama work and prepare the file so it isn't sent back.
We also handle legalization at Panamanian consulates abroad for documents from non-apostille countries that must be submitted in Panama.

If the country is party to the Hague Convention, an apostille is enough. If not, consular legalization is required. We tell you the right route for each country.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between an apostille and consular legalization?
The apostille is a single certificate valid between Hague Convention countries. Consular legalization is a chain of stamps (Foreign Ministry and consulate) for countries that are not party. It takes longer and costs more.
How long does embassy legalization take?
It depends on the embassy: from a few days to several weeks. We give you an estimate for your country before we start.
